iShare: Share-a-Book Project

LSM announces its debut project today as it positioned itself as civic group catering to volunteering and civic support. Dubbed as iShare: Share-a-Book project, the launching of said project is in connection to the DepEd's campaign of engaging our children to read. It was noted that November last year, the department issued a memorandum naming the month of November as month for readership engagement.

Realising the need to bring reading materials to pupils in poor areas, LSM launches the project to allign the distribution of books with great consideration to indigent pupils in rural areas. "We actually have in mind the beneficiaries of this project Mangyans and Aetas. We can tell exactly how they want to have their own books, and reading materials to aid their studies, say in English subject. Meanwhile this leverage is a tool for everyone to have free access to education, irrespective of geographical location, and cultural differences," says Charmie Miraflor, Campaign Officer.
